چکیده

In today’s competitive business environment, it is becoming more crucial than ever to assess precisely process losses due to non-compliance to customer specifications. To assess these losses, industry is widely using process capability indices for performance evaluation of their processes. Determination of the performance capability of a stable process using the standard process capability indices requires that the underlying process data should follow a normal distribution. However, if the data is non-normal, measuring process capability using conventional methods can lead to erroneous results. Different process capability indices such as Clements percentile method and data transformation method have been proposed to deal with the non-normal See http://anziamj.austms.org.au/ojs/index.php/ANZIAMJ/article/view/357 for this article, c © Austral. Capability Indices for Rayleigh Process

Monitoring, control and improvement of quality are  important  for companies.  Process capability indices (PCIs) are tools widely used by the industries to determine  the quality of their products and the performance of their manufacturing processes. Classic versions of  these  indices were constructed for processes whose quality characteristics have  a  normal distribution. But, many of these ...

New Shewhart-type synthetic bar{X} control schemes for non-normal data

In this paper, Burr-type XII ̄X synthetic schemes are proposed as an alternative to the classical ̄X synthetic schemes when the assumption of normality fails to hold. First, the basic design of the Burr-type XII ̄X synthetic scheme is developed and its performance investigated using exact formulae. Secondly, the non-side-sensitive and side-sensitive Burr-type XII ̄X synthetic schemes are int...

Performance Analysis for Skewed Data

Information technology and the media have changed the face of business practices today. Customers now play the key role for the success of any business and noncompliance to their specifications will simply lead to failure of the business. Researchers across many disciplines have worked out several modifications of the traditional process capability measures to obtain better estimates of the pro...

Multivariate process capability indices on the presence of priority for quality characteristics

Multivariate Process Capability Indices (MPCI) show how well a manufacturing process can meet specifica-tion limits when quality characteristics enclose a relative correlation. Process capability is an important and commonly used metric for assessing and improving the quality of a production process. When quality charac-teristics of a product are correlated then an attractive comes close to MPC...

Process Performance Evaluation Using Evolutionary Algorithm

Nowadays every business is using different quantitative measures and techniques to assess peiformance of their products! services. It is well known that different manufacturing processes very often manufacture products with quality characteristics that do not follow normal distribution. In such cases, fitting a known non-normal distribution to these quality characteristics would lead to erroneo...
